wisdom of the earth

The work is an ongoing action, where the visitors can spend the time they want with the work, being able to leave and to come back at any time during the two hours. There is no specific beginning or end. The work has been presented for the first time at the National Museum of Art of Romanian (MNAR).

I chose to bring to life the Wisdom of the Earth in a black room, in a dark room – which is also a queer space. The work itself is absent, yet present in the same time, object and subject. It cannot be easily described, named, measured and identified. This way it has the possibility to escape from the interpretations and agendas attributed over time and to become something else, without limits and beyond the confined space. The depersonalization made in the dark, which should not be perceived as a negative thing, produces a powerful, necessary, political and affective potential of a new subjectivity – in a way recently proposed by theoretician Andre Lepecki says the artist Manuel Pelmuș.
