Romanian Dance History 3 (Social Dance) – premiere

Duration 45′

Calendar

Thursday 17/11/2011 from 19:00 to 19:45

Romanian Dance History 3 (Social Dance) aims to approach dance choreography not only as a discipline, but as asocial paradigm as well. More specifically, this show intends to both explore and work directly with what could be labeled as “underdeveloped areas” or “slums”. As illustrated by what we can call the “choreography of the periphery”, the project wants to shed light on the types of gestures, on their relation to society, and on their impact, especially regarding their potential of stirring up social mobilization.

artists: Manuel Pelmuş, Farid Fairuz & guests

Manuel Pelmuș and Farid Fairuz are dancers and choreographers. They are the initiators of a new project called Căminul Cultural, which premiered in Bucharest earlier this year.
