In a society where people are appreciated according to their production value, the human being expires quickly. Once you are no longer useful, you are listed on a dead line and you become a burden. We have to figure out what to do with you and that takes a lot of time and energy. We have to pay you a pension, buy you drugs and offer you comfort. But that is only prolonging your agony. Your body is deteriorating, your senses start to fail and your mind generates errors. You are me 20 years from now. You are OLD.
INUTIL/cOLD explores your life, after you lost your freshness and became useless. Oh, I forgot to tell you, by 2050 there will be 1,5 billion people just like you on this planet and it is very possible that you will get to live more than 85.

About the artists
Catinca Drăgănescu is a theatre director and playwright. Since 2012 she has been developing projects that combine relevant social themes in nowadays society with game structures in order to create performative installations that challenge the audience to react and reflect. In 2013 she joined the Arena Association and together they created a debate performance platform and multiple community art projects. Examples of her work: ROVEGAN (2016), iHAMLET (2016), Orb de mină (2016), Ibsen Incorporated (2015), Exod 2.0 (2015), Occupy future (2015), DISTOPIE.shakespeare.REMIX (2014), patru metri pătraţi (2014), Aggressive Mediocrity (2014), Copilul rece (2013), Născut ȋn ’84 (2013), Photoshop (2013), Chip de foc (2012).
