Doggystyle
Calendar
The audience will enjoy a satire inspired by the controversy between stray dogs’ supporters and those who no longer want to see such four-footed animals on the streets of Romanian cities. Beyond the entertainment, the absurd embedded within the play signals and gibes a set of phenomena and attitudes widely spread in Romanian society: poverty, stupidity, incoherence, narrow-mindedness. We are witnessing Grivei’s trial, a stray dog living near block C5, and we are discovering together what happens when Romanians take a stand, and what are the hidden mechanisms that govern their actions and nature when caught in a world as “large” as the one of block C5. Doggystyle portrays daily heroes in an epic battle for saving Grivei or for saving the entire nation. At the end of the show, the audience can choose to adopt a stray dog by one of the partner associations that deal with stray dogs’ care.
