Life versus death, an open diary is a project of video dance, of documenting a common artistic experience between the choreographer Marlene Freitas from Lisbon and Bogdana Pascal, media artist from Bucharest. The two artists received from the part of the organizers a ”wild card” in what concerns the artistic content of the film. The attempt to get familliar via email until the very moment of the start of the project, revealed common concerns around the idea of diary, between reality and fiction. The diary represents a daily programme of observation but also the possibility to construct a relatively unknown and hidden space which in the end proves to be public and open. The movie aims to be a voyage in which Marlene Freitas and Bogdana Pascal experiment fiction and reality.
