Yann Verburgh is an author rooted in his time, anxious to recount it or even to denounce it. With his strong, personal, oral, direct writing, he gives a voice to both victims and assassins. He doesn’t judge. Modestly, sensibly, but without indulgence and without pathos, he tells the story of the society in which he lives and invites a necessary reflection. His texts, of a great humanity, have a universal reach.

His play, Ogres, has received, numerous distinctions in France: laureat Beaumarchais-SACD, laureat of the National Theatre Center, Favourite of the Reader Bureau of the Comédie Française and also the object of numerous readings and of a residence at the Chartreuse – National Center for Playwriting.
