Rui Catalão was born in Calem, Portugal, in 1971. He became known as journalist and critic (musical, literary and film), and then he started working as a scriptwriter and interpret together with the choreographer Joao Fiadeiro. He worked with the choreographers Manuel Pelmuş, Brynjar Bandlien and Miguel Pereira. He is the author of My kind of job, The dark room (with Manuel Pelmuş), Elogio da classe politica Portuguesa and Coada şoricelului.
