Family Offline is the performance of „chopped childhood” between border-parents (parents who work abroad) and kids remaining at home. Whose parents are the kids and how do they grow up when mom and dad become a voice on the phone? Who is mom when mom is no longer present?

Radu Apostol is one of the most well-known theatre directors involved in social theatre. He has worked in important national theatres, where he staged many controversial, prize-winning and talked-about shows. He is one of the founders of the dramAcum project. Home by Ludmila Razumovskaia, at Ion Creangă Theatre, Straight as a line by Luis Alfaro, at Maria Filotti Theatre in Brăila or Woyzeck by Georg Büchner, also at Maria Filotti Theatre are among his best works. He coordinated “ACASĂ”, a project designed for the homeless children, Open Home Association, Step by Step Foundation and Ion Creangă Theatre. He believes that it is extremely productive for professionals and non-professionals to meet on stage, from an artistic point of view. He also stays away from the “museum-like” type of theatre.
Mihaela Michailov is a playwright and performing arts critic. She wrote documentary theatre plays – Hotheads and Underground, directed by David Schwartz, texts for kids and teenagers – Bad Kids, directed by Alexandru Mihaescu and Family Offline, directed by Radu Apostol. She has been working together with Radu Apostol in various educational theatre projects since 2012.
